Regional Conference on the Evolving World of Work in the Enlarged European Union : Vulnerability and Social Sustainability

Brussels, Belgium: 23-24 November 2006

You have no doubt already been informed by the ILO, that they will organise the above meeting for twenty-eight government representatives as well as for twenty-eight participants each from employers’ and workers’ organisations from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Purpose of meeting:

a) To present and disseminate main findings of comparative research to help all governments and social partners' representatives to obtain newest information on the trends in working and employment conditions, and to learn concrete practices from enterprises case studies;
b) To get a feedback from social partners' and governments representatives and to stimulate a general discussion; and
c) To discuss the policy implications and to draw some tentative policy recommendations from the debate.

The working language will be English and French.

As Secretary of the Employers' Group of the Governing Body, the IOE Secretary-General, having been approached by the ILO with regard to the employers' organisations to be invited, has pleasure in informing you that your federation was selected.

You will be requested, by the ILO, to appoint one participant whose travel and subsistence expenses will be borne by the ILO, and to return the application form to the department concerned.
