On 12 December 2005 the UK Presidency of the European Union and the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work will join forces to organise a major closing event for the European Week in Bilbao, Spain:
EUROPEAN NOISE AT WORK SUMMIT
We are living and working in an alarmingly noisy world: one in three employees in Europe is exposed to excessive noise for more than a quarter of their working time. And noise will continue to be a challenge as it affects growth sectors such as services and entertainment.
This year's European Week for Safety and Health at Work is the first pan-European campaign aimed at reducing the risks of workplace noise. A wide variety of campaigning activities will take place across Europe during October.
The Bilbao summit will bring together leading European experts and decision-makers to discuss future strategies. The conference will be followed by the annual good practice awards ceremony.
Attendance at the conference is offered free of charge, however participants will have to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. Please reserve the date in your diary! Please take a look at the programme.
