The European Social Network would like to invite you to the 13th European Social Services Conference, to be held in Edinburgh on 4-6 July 2005 in partnership with the United Kingdom Presidency of the European Union:
Putting People First: Partnership and Performance in Social Care and Health in a Changing Europe
Theme Local public social care and health services play a key role in the development of an inclusive and caring society. In the first days of the United Kingdom Presidency of the European Union, the 2005 European Social Services Conference will address how public services in Europe should respond to growing care and health needs in a challenging social and economic environment.
It will ask how best to develop a professionally trained and supported workforce; how policy and practice can lead to services designed with consumers as partners; and how managers can deliver strong organisational performance and the highest standards of care.
The conference draws on European best practice, looking at the latest outcomes of research and project development. With over 30 multi-lingual plenary and workshop presentations, the conference provides a unique opportunity to learn and contribute to this important debate about partnership and performance in social care and health.
Who is it for? This annual conference offers strategic and practical learning and networking opportunities for all those responsible for planning and implementing services: planners, politicians, managers and professionals. It is for all those with an interest in the future of health and social care services including, for example, elderly care, disability, children, youth and family and mental health services.
The conference is held in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
