Third round table on poverty and social exclusion

"SOCIAL INCLUSION IN AN ENLARGED EU: NEW CHALLENGES, NEW OPPORTUNITIES”

The European Round Table Conferences play an important role within the Union's Social Inclusion Process. It is a key occasion for representatives from NGOs, social partners, national/regional/local governments and European institutions to exchange information and views on this process, to assess progress towards the Lisbon goal of making a decisive impact on poverty and social exclusion by 2010 and to suggest ways of further strengthening the process.

The Third European Round Table will be the first such event to take place following the enlargement of the European Union. A consequence of enlargement will be that the Union will have to face new and comparatively greater challenges in promoting social inclusion. However, the enlargement constitutes a positive opportunity for a more widespread two-way exchange of experiences and good practices.

Seminari esineb ettekandega Lorena Ionita Euroopa tööandjate organisatsioonist UNICE. Samuti nimetas UNICE seminarile neli tööandjate poolset esindajat, kelle hulgas seekord Eesti Tööandjate Keskliidu esindajaid ei ole.
