Seminar on quality in Vocational Education and Training on 19 & 20 April in Prague

The European Training Foundation, Cedefop and the European Commission are organising a Seminar on quality in Vocational Education and Training on 19 & 20 April 2004 in Prague.

The objectives of the seminar are:

  • to raise awareness of the Acceding and Candidate Countries on the main  developments and outcomes resulting from the Technical Working Group on Quality in Vocational Education and Training, which has been established at European level in the context of the Copenhagen process;
  • to further the understanding on the situation in the Acceding and Candidate Countries as regards approaches and initiatives to enhance quality in Vocational Education and Training;
  • to discuss possibilities for the voluntary participation of the countries in some of the cooperation activities which are included in the Work Plan of the Technical Working Group for 2004.

Invitations for participation have been addressed to Ministries of Education and Labour in all 13 Acceding and Candidate Countries. In addition the organisers would like to invite a few employers' representatives from the Acceding and Candidate Countries to participate in the seminar.

The organisers therefore asked UNICE to help them in identifying two participants from the Acceding and Candidate Countries who would be able and interested in making a contribution to the event (experts in Vocational Education and Training issues).

The European Training Foundation will cover travel and subsistence costs of nominated participants.

You are kindly asked to send your nominations to UNICE's secretariat (Ms Denis, e.denis@unice.be) by 26 March 2004.

The places will be allocated on a "first come first served" basis.
